Colin Currie & Asko|Schönberg

This unique collaboration between Steve Reich and visual artist Gerhard Richter was premiered in spring 2019 to mark the opening of New York’s iconic THE SHED. It proved to be one of the highlights of the New York season. Together with filmmaker Corinna Belz the artists dovetailed Richter’s and Belz’s pixels with Reich’s rhythms and pulse in an almost mathematically precise match in sound and vision. Together with Asko|Schoenberg, percussionist and conductor Colin Currie and the designer Theun Mosk, we re-stage Reich/Richter - with the addition of other iconic Reich pieces in a specially designed, immersive box for musicians, and film.
